…Sometimes I’m not sure where to post stuff. I haven’t updated the blog in a few days so I’ll put it here. I’ve been busy working on the photo gallery manager (Qdig) for a while. I’ve been tweaking it trying to get it to work the way I want. Some of the features I wanted hadn’t been implemented in the program, though, so I went to the Qdig Forum and offered some suggestions. The creator of the program, Hagan Fox, myself, and another user tossed around ideas for these feeatures and I even wrote some code and contributed it. Hagan took our ideas and put them in the new development release of the program. I was pretty honored when he listed me on the update page. My original request was for the direct image link and when the CSS request came up it looked like something that would be good for GloryFish.org. Basically the goal was to have the thumbnail for the currently displayed image be highlighted in some way. I did a rough version with a simple border and some controls to make it easy for new users but also allow flexibility for more experienced users. Hagan looked at my (very inexperienced) code and reworked it to the version you see in our pictures section. It’s been a great learning experience and I think I’m going to keep it up in the furure. I use lots of open source programs to power the site (phpBB, Qdig, MagpieRSS, phpbb_fetch_all, etc.). It feels good to contibute to such a great community.
